Latest news:
The band is extremely pleased to have been alerted to the Top-50 list at the Sea of Tranquility review site. Fromuz is honored to have been ranked so highly with their debut album ("Audio Diplomacy") amongst so many talented artists. Sea of Tranquility has posted all 14 of their critics' lists of "best of" for 2007 in various categories. Fromuz factored very well, even ending up as the #7 best release of the year when all of their reviewers' lists were weighted and averaged together!
Danish prog adventurers, Art Cinema, will be busy recording their debut album this winter. Art Cinema was formed in the autumn by singer/songwriter Jesper Harrits together with veterans Michael Denner (guitars, Mercyful Fate / King Diamond) and Robin Taylor (keyboards, guitars, Taylor's Universe). The rest of the line-up consists of Karsten Vogel (saxophones, Secret Oyster, Taylor's Universe), Bjarne Holm (drums, Mercyful Fate), Flemming Muus (bass, one of DK's highest rated session players), and the lovely voices of Jytte Lindberg and Louise Nipper. Robin Taylor is in charge of producing the album, which will hopefully be due in late spring of 2008.
Fourty years ago this year, four lads from Birmingham got together, formed a band named The Polka Tulk Electric Blues Band. That band later changed its name to Earth, and then later on Black Sabbath. How will this anniversary be marked? It was announced late last year that the current incarnation of the band (under the name Heaven & Hell) will record their first album (fourth in fact, keeping in mind "Mob Rules", "Live Evil" and "Dehumanizer"). A new studio album hasn't happened since 1995's "Forbidden". It's about time. Heaven & Hell are: Tony Iommi (guitars), Geezer Butler (bass), Ronnie James Dio (vocals) and Vinnie Appice (drums). In 2007, they did a full world tour with a vibrant set list, something Black Sabbath hasn't really done in frigging ages.
