ProjeKct
(UK) / March 20, 2010

Forthcoming release:

Digital Global Mobile & Inner Knot Records announce the upcoming release of “A Scarcity of Miracles”, a new release in the King Crimson ProjeKct series. The ProjeKct features Robert Fripp, Jakko Jakszyk and Mel Collins with a rhythm section of Tony Levin and Gavin Harrison. The album will be released on May 30, 2011.

When Fripp (King Crimson founder and guitarist) and Jakszyk (Level 42) got together in February 2009 neither expected that their initial sessions of guitar-only improvisations would result in a full-blown album, or that it would ultimately be deemed to be a King Crimson ProjeKct. As the material from those first sessions developed, it was obviously becoming much wider in scope and scale. The arrival of sax player and former King Crimson member, Collins, added further colour and texture to the emerging songs. The line-up was completed with the addition of bassist Levin and Porcupine Tree's drummer, Harrison (both members of the 2008 incarnation of King Crimson), adding their parts to the material in their respective studios. What had begun as an exchange of ideas grew into an album of heartfelt songs, an album that is immediately accessible on first hearing but reveals fresh detail and depth with each subsequent play, as one might expect from musicians of this calibre.

“A Scarcity of Miracles” (A King Crimson ProjeKct) features artwork by PJ Crook and will be released simultaneously as a CD/DVD-A package, a 200gm limited edition vinyl album with a gatefold sleeve and a standard CD. The CD/DVD-A pack features the album mixed in 5.1 surround sound, the album in high definition 24/96 stereo, an album's worth of alternate mixes, improvisations from the original sessions and the video for the title track, along with the CD album in a slipcase.

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band
(UK) / March 20, 2010

Forthcoming release:

Manfred Mann's new album "Rational Anthems" will be released in September. A single "Boots" will be issued in conjunction with the album and a promotional video - featuring a breakdancing queen!

Tour news (coming from Manfred):

I am delighted to announce that Robert Hart will be replacing Peter Cox as lead singer for the group. Rehearsals have gone very well and we look forward to the upcoming gigs. We say goodbye to Peter with the greatest personal and professional regret. We enjoyed working with him, but his commitments with 'Go West' just did not enable us to function efficiently. Robert Hart will be a familiar name to some of you – he has performed as a solo artist, as well as with Bad Company and Company Of Snakes, among other projects. To coincide with the dates, the band are having some new photos taken and a new biography will appear on site soon.

Manfred Mann ‘60s band:

Later this year we will be releasing a box set of the seven Manfred Mann (‘60s) EPs (on CD) together with the “Five Faces of Mann” album in digipack and vinyl formats. We've also been busy having the catalogue cleaned up and will be reissuing all the albums with digitalised sleeves and original track listings.

RECORDING COMPANIES:

Magna Carta Records
(USA) / March 20, 2010

Forthcoming release:

  • Glen Drover – “Metalusion”

Glen Drover is regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in the industry. Starting his recording career playing with such bands as King Diamond and Megadeth, Drover remains one of the most active guitarists in the shred guitar scene today. With the release of his solo debut, “Metalusion”, Glen Dover blends the technically demanding musicianship that typified the classic jazz-rock genre with the venom and attack of modern metal. The instrumental, 10-track “Metalusion”, featuring five original compositions and metallic-edged interpretations of material composed by rock and jazz-rock giants Frank Zappa, Al Di Meola and Jean-Luc Ponty, melds the robust properties of distinct sonic strains that reveal a new and mysterious element on the periodic table of musical genres. Members: Glen Drover - guitars, Jim Gilmour - keyboards, Paul Yee - bass, Chris Sutherland – drums. The album will be released on April 5, 2011.

    Metal Mind Records
    (Poland) / March 20, 2010

    Forthcoming releases:

  • Nera – "Foresting Wounds"
  • Travellers – "Magic"
  • Kruk – "In Reverie"

"Foresting Wounds", the new solo album by Nera (the female voice of Darzamat) will be released by Metal Mind Productions on the 8th of May. The idea to form NeraNature was conceived in the beginning of 2009. The singer was searching for a way to communicate, via the medium of music, her thoughts regarding the eternal bond of man and nature, as also her personal impressions regarding her observations of various interpersonal relations and the emotions that accompany them.

Travellers is the name of the new musical project of Wojtek Szadkowski, who is known for his past involvement with such acclaimed bands as Collage, Satellite and Strawberry Fields. The band is currently working on their debut album "Magic". The album will be released in May.

The 6th of June will witness the release of the new album by Kruk, a Polish Hard Rock band, which was formed in 2001 by Piotr Brzychcy and Krzysztof Walczyk. Their second studio album will feature a big surprise. The song "In Reverie", which will promote the album, will include a guest appearance by Doogie White. This charismatic singer is best known to the wide audience for his cooperation with such bands as Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen and most recently Tank.
