  • RPWL – “A Show beyond Man and Time” DVD

The German art/prog rock band RPWL returns in September with a brand new release. Their new live DVD features a special show recorded earlier this year at Wyspiañski Theater in Katowice, Poland, which was also the last complete performance of their most recent album "Beyond Man and Time" in Europe. The title of the album was inspired by Nietzsche's famous words “6000 feet beyond man and time”, taken from his opus magnum “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”. The protagonist of RPWL's story is on a journey and meets various characters, partly adapted from Zarathustra, as means towards new insight. The basic idea behind it is a so-called “revaluation of values” in terms of a new way of thinking. In this world beyond man and time there already are creatures of higher knowledge that the protagonist meets allegorically along his way: the keeper of the cave, the willingly blind, the scientist, the ugliest human, the creator, the shadow, the wise man in the desert, and the fisherman. The multimedia live presentation of this concept album with its stunning show elements and musical virtuosity will make for an outstanding experience! In addition to the songs from „Beyond Man and Time“, the show includes several „RPWL classics“ and some surprises in the band's live set, one of them being "Roses" - one of the band's most popular songs performed together with Ray Wilson (ex-Genesis, Stiltskin). Today RPWL revealed the title of the DVD: „A Show Beyond Man and Time”. The DVD will be released by Metal Mind Productions in September. Apart from the show recorded at the Theater, the DVD will include bonus materials such as an interview with band members. Full details to be announced soon.
