BANDS & PERFORMERS:

Ozzy Osbourne
(UK) / August 28, 2016

Latest News:

Ozzy Osbourne wants to do a new solo album and tour once he has taken a break at the end of Black Sabbath's final tour, says keyboardist Adam Wakeman. And although the son of prog icon Rick isn't certain whether he'll be invited to return to take part, he's ready to do so. He's also a touring member of Black Sabbath, years after his father collaborated with the band. Wakeman Junior tells EonMusic: "I was lucky enough to start with them in 2003, so this is my 13th year with Ozzy and Sabbath. I keep half-expecting a picture of a Spitfire and a watch at the end of each tour - but they keep asking me back and I'm happy to come. "Sabbath is finishing on February 4, then we'll see what happens with Ozzy after that. He wants to do another tour, he wants to do another album. But there's going to be a period of time when he needs a rest."

Cradle Of Filth
(UK) / August 28, 2016

Latest News:

The popular British progressive black-metal band Cradle Of Filth has been locked away for the past week in a studio in Brno, Czech Republic, working on the follow up to their 2015 opus "Hammer Of The Witches". The evening before embarking on their creative quest, the outfit’s frontman Dani Filth said: "As a band, we are very much looking forward to our writing session in Brno. It's going to be very inspirational to just bury ourselves away in a rehearsal room in the Czech Republic and knead our ammunition of razor-sharp, flesh-ripping sonic torments into sinister form. Hopefully when we emerge from our musical chrysalis one week later, something beautiful will be born”.

Edensong
(USA) / August 28, 2016

Forthcoming release:

“Years In the Garden of Years” is the brand new album by the cult American prog-metal band Edensong. This is is a concept album where the combo further explores the intricately composed eclectic orchestral rock style of their debut, and infuses it with the energy and sheer power of the music of their roots in “Echoes of Eden”. Whereas “The Fruit Fallen” was the creative voice of singer/guitarist James Byron Schoen, “Years in the Garden of Years” was composed more collaboratively by the full band, and the diverse musical contributions and influences can be heard across the record, from metal to symphonic, atonal to melodic, acoustic to electronic, meticulously structured to fully improvised. Tracklist: 1. Cold City, 2. End Times to Retrospect, 3. In the Longest of Days, 4. The Hollowed, 5. Down the Hours, 6. Chronos, 7. Generations, 8. The Atman Apocalypse, 9. Regenerations, 10. Metallica
(USA) / August 28, 2016

Forthcoming release:

After months of hints and speculation, Metallica surprised fans on Thursday with the announcement of their new double album "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct". The new album, the follow-up to their 2008 effort "Death Magnetic", is set to be released on November 18th in various configurations including digital, double CD, double vinyl, a deluxe edition and a deluxe deluxe version. The band's 10th record will be released on November 18 via their own label Blackened Records. Metallica frontman James Hetfield has revealed that upcoming album "Hardwired... To Self Destruct" only took shape in the past few weeks, even though it's been under production for years. But he says that's one of the advantages of having their own record label, rather than following orders issued by an outside corporate body. Hetfield tells TwinCities.com: "We've been working on this record, realistically, for eight years. But it's been two years starting to put songs together. Literally, the last two months is when it all started to come together. There are no rules any more as far as you've got to do what the record company says or what the manager says”. The band reunited with Greg Fidelman for the new album. Greg had engineered and mixed "Death Magnetic," but for the new album he was recruited as the producer. Drummer Lars Ulrich had this to say about the album and working with Fidelman, "Has it really been eight years? Doesn't feel like it! We're obviously beyond psyched to share new tunes with all our friends out there. We've been rocking along in the studio with Greg on and off for the last 18 months firing up the creative engines again”.
