Djam Karet
(USA) / January 9, 2005

Latest news:

If you visit the Djam Karet website and travel to the Downloads section, you can hear the first new studio track from the band in almost 2 years. 'Pentimento' was created exclusively for the Progday Benefit CD (to be released in early 2005), compiled by Lew Fisher and the Progressive Music Society. It will remain up on the website throughout the month of January.

Recording and mixing for the new Djam Karet studio release due out in the fall of 2005 has been going very well and will conclude by April of this year. All of the band's collective energy is going there for the moment. They will begin posting rough mixes of this material on the website beginning in February.

Oxygene 8
(USA) / January 9, 2005

Latest news (rather regrettable):

The US band >Oxygene 8, formerly the duo of Linda Cushma and Frank D'Angelo, does not exist anymore. Linda will continue as a solo performer. Tim Alexander of Primus has already recorded some drum parts for her first solo CD, now in progress. Argentinean Stickist, Guillermo Cides, will join Linda and Tim on the project, as well as many other celebrated guests.

Meanwhile, Frank started a new band, Monkey God, with his longtime friend, fretless bass player and singer Joe Sofia, student and protege of Brand X/Tunnels fretless bass whiz Percy Jones. Joe also sang on Percy's solo album "The $10,000 Bookshelf". The guys started working and recording for the debut Monkey God CD. They describe their music as "King Crimson meets the Beatles, with elements of Jazz-Fusion, Space Rock and Ambient".

Bill Fay - "Time of the Last Persecution (remastered reissues)
Cult classics from this highly regarded late 60's/70's singer & songwriter, extremely rare. Previously was available only as a 2for1, a few years ago. Look out for a large feature on Bill in "The Wire". Dark, depressing and experimental: if you like Peter Hamill/Nick Cave/Tim Buckley etc then Bill's the man for you.

We are also distributing the original self-titled Audience album from 1969. Great voice, jazz-laced Prog, we have these in stock immediately, plus the solo work of lead singer Howard Werth (the man who was headhunted to replace Jim Morrison in the Doors).

Mellotronen Records
(Sweden) / January 23, 2005

Forthcoming releases:

Sabu Martinez - 1973/2004 - "Burned Sugar"
Sabu Martinez & Sahib Shihab - 1978/2004 - "Winds & Skins"
Asoka - 1971/2004 - "Asoka"

It is a great honour for our Mellotronen label that we now have Asoka under our wings. The CD version includes their 1971 album and 8 bonus tracks are ready for delivery. We are now working hard to get the vinyl version ready in time for their release party.

The CD "Too early but still..." by Charlie & Esdor will hopefully see the light of day before the summer.

The Mistlur label will release the album "Hej Pa Er" by Trettioariga Kriget in March. The CD comes as a numbered edition including 3 bonus tracks from their album "Mot Alla Odds".

The 25th and 26th of February Anekdoten will perform live in Japan, at Tokyo Kinema Klub. For that event a CD box with all their albums will be released. The CDs will be housed in nice Japanese paper sleeves.

Talking about Japan, the new CD by Pochakaite Malko POCHAKAITE MALKO is finally released. The title of the album is "Laya". Musically, it's in the same field as Zamla Mammas Manna and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, the real treasure for fans of complex violin passages, brutal keyboard attacks and a furious rhythm section!

Other artists that's been added are Current 93, Coil and Nurse With Wound
